Digital Merchandising Director

Ideasmyth is seeking an awesome intern who has a passion for developing a creatively engaging and profitable store division. While this is currently an unpaid position, there is the possibility of compensation as a percentage of profits.


  • Measure marketing campaign data and provides quantitative analysis to ensure marketing dollars are spent effectively
  • Ensure smooth operation of e-commerce channels and troubleshoots any issues immediately
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory levels, and inbound/outbound orders
  • Work with rest of team to provide marketing perspective and feedback
  • Drive merchandise sales with innovation and promotions
  • Maintain proper inventory levels
  • Responsible for the merchandise from purchase-to-sell process and ensuring margins are maintained
  • Monitor and measure operational performance against goals to ensure progress is being made and corrective action is taken as needed
  • Develop warehousing/storage plan to assure easy access and accountability of merchandise
  • Develop merchandising plan for the Ideasmyth online store
  • Perform monthly inventory reports
  • Assist in the development of programs that result in increased customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all payment procedures are in effect at all times
  • Construct a comprehensive marketing strategy with multiple online marketing channels


  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Merchandising or a similar field
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant graduate program
  • Previous experience with e-commerce marketplaces, including Shopify, Amazon FBA or a Zapier-like made to order merchandise company
  • Previous experience with creating campaigns in digital marketing with Google Marketing or Facebook Ads
  • Comfortable learning new technology and software
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with inventory control procedures and policies
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals
  • Quickly learns and integrates third party e-commerce web services
  • Able to maintain growing stock catalogue
  • Comfortable working with or learning to use metrics such as CPC, CPA, ROAS
  • Comfortable with fulfillment and working with carriers, including UPS and FedEx
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical and writing skills
  • Strong teamwork ethic
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must have strong people skills and be able to motivate staff to achieve goals
  • Technically proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access)
