CREATIVE PROCESS: Monster Graphics

  First: The Theme Description

Since the entire month of October is basically one giant celebration of Halloween (candy included), we thought there was no better time to celebrate the mild and amiable monsters of this world, as well as the people who face the more malevolent monsters head-on.

Second: Inspirations

Bugs Bunny – Water, Water Every Hare 2015

Third: Storyboards

We didn’t want to put a lot of detail into the characters so they have simplified heads, and triangular body, with only a few details on them. The whole shot was set off to the side, to make room for the text as well as the witch who ended up reading the book in the animation.

Different Version

The closet, mummy, and window were omitted to simplify the graphic.

The Mummy was replaced with a witch, since the bandages on the mummy were too complex. All the monsters were animated to come out from under the bed to reduce animation time, and to avoid making walking cycles for each character.
